GridPoint supports the following alliances and associations that are making a difference in advancing the development of a smart grid. 

Founded in 1977, the Alliance to Save Energy is a non-profit coalition of business, government, environmental and consumer leaders. The Alliance to Save Energy supports energy efficiency as a cost-effective energy resource under existing market conditions and advocates energy-efficiency policies that minimize costs to society and individual consumers, and that lessen greenhouse gas emissions and their impact on the global climate. To carry out its mission, the Alliance to Save Energy undertakes research, educational programs, and policy advocacy, designs and implements energy-efficiency projects, promotes technology development and deployment, and builds public-private partnerships, in the U.S. and other countries. www.ase.org
The American Public Power Association (APPA) is the service organization for the nation's more than 2,000 community-owned electric utilities that serve more than 45 million Americans. It was created in 1940 as a non-profit, non-partisan organization. Its purpose is to advance the public policy interests of its members and their consumers, and provide member services to ensure adequate, reliable electricity at a reasonable price with the proper protection of the environment. www.appanet.org

Founded in 1989, EDTA is the preeminent US industry association dedicated to the promotion of electric drive as the best means to achieve the highly efficient and clean use of secure energy in the transportation sector. We support the sustainable commercialization of all electric drive transportation technologies by providing in-depth information, education, industry networking, public policy advocacy and international conferences and exhibitions. www.electricdrive.org

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the association of U.S. shareholder-owned electric companies. Organized in 1933, EEI works closely with all of its members, representing their interests and advocating equitable policies in legislative and regulatory arenas. In its leadership role, EEI provides advocacy, authoritative analysis, and critical industry data to its members, Congress, government agencies, the financial community and other opinion-leader audiences. EEI provides forums for member company representatives to discuss issues and strategies to advance the industry and to ensure a competitive position in a changing marketplace. www.eei.org

Founded in 2003, the GridWise Alliance is a consortium of public and private stakeholders dedicated to the improvement of America's electric system through cutting-edge technology. The Alliance advocates for change on both the national and state levels. Its members include utilities, IT companies, equipment vendors and new technology providers. www.gridwise.org

Project Get Ready is a non-profit initiative led by Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), preparing cities for the introduction of plug-in vehicles. In collaboration with a wide array of partners and technical advisers, RMI is helping cities to develop plug-in vehicle infrastructure. Project Get Ready will:
* Create a dynamic “menu” of strategic plug-in readiness actions including the “business case” for each action.
* Provide a web database of American and international plug-in readiness activities.
* Convene at least 20 cities as well as technical players regularly to discuss their lessons learned and best practices, and report these conversations on our website and materials. www.projectgetready.com
