ADMMicro Delivers Savings to U.S. Postal Service

Post Offices in Greensboro, N.C. Reduce Energy Consumption, Costs

ROANOKE, VA --February 23, 2009-- ADMMicro, Inc. has enabled some U.S. Postal Service offices in the Greensboro, N.C. area to reduce energy consumption by 14 percent by installing their patented advanced metering systems at 16 locations.

Greensboro’s Guilford station, a 6,000-square-foot facility, reduced its energy use an impressive 31 percent. The total energy cost savings for the 16 facilities was $52,000 during the 13 months the systems have been in place. CO2 emissions were reduced by one million pounds.

“There are a number of low-cost, no-cost efforts the Postal Service can make to reduce energy use,” said Tom Samra, vice president, Facilities, USPS. “The results of this pilot demonstrate that by simply adjusting the thermostat up in summer and down in winter during unoccupied hours can save energy and money.”

ADMMicro’s systems automatically adjust the heat or air conditioning during periods when the facilities are unoccupied, and then return them to normal just before employees arrive for work. The systems also monitor the effect of controlling the thermostats.

ADMMicro helps clients monitor and manage energy costs with its patented systems. By combining submetering and energy management capabilities, ADMMicro is able to track utility consumption and enable customers to reduce their energy costs and carbon footprints.

ADMMicro’s products are used at thousands of sites across the country, and clients include Target, DSW, and O’Reilly Auto Parts. The company has six manufacturing operations, including three in the Roanoke area.

ADMMicro was acquired by GridPoint in 2009.
