STREAMLINING GRID INTERACTION

Ensuring plug-in vehicles are able to communicate with the grid enhances the value of ownership, accelerating sales and the resulting environmental benefits.
GridPoint has been successfully connecting electric vehicles with the grid since 2007. Many of the nation's leading utilities have deployed GridPoint’s smart grid software to communicate with their plug-in vehicles and successfully execute smart charging strategies.

Today, we are working closely with automakers and industry standards bodies to deliver commercially available, grid-aware electric vehicles. In December 2008, GridPoint successfully equipped a Chevy Volt battery pack with our technology, enabling the pack to intelligently interact with the grid.

In an effort to accelerate availability and meet the unique needs of individual automakers, GridPoint offers three options for accessing our in-vehicle communication solution—as an aftermarket installation, a reference component solution or as a software-only integration.
