GridPoint Customer Portal
The GridPoint Customer Portal allows utilities to reduce peak demand by enabling customers to conserve energy through a password protected online energy management portal.
Customers obtain unparalleled visibility into energy consumption and costs through circuit-level management (i.e. how much energy is consumed by each appliance). Customers can also obtain detailed cost savings information related to their participation in utility-sponsored demand response programs or PHEV pricing programs (i.e. charging low rates during off-peak periods to reduce peak demand).
For the first time, customers can control costs and conserve energy through an online management tool that is as easy-to-use as online banking. With a few clicks, customers can create a personal energy profile to automatically optimize energy usage based on consumption patterns and utility rate schedules.
Customers can access easy-to-understand environmental data (e.g. your avoided carbon dioxide emissions is equivalent to removing 100 cars from the road for a day) based on their energy conservation efforts, PHEV usage versus a traditional vehicle, and renewable energy production.
Customers can subscribe to email or text message alerts (e.g. an outage has occurred, you have 10 hours of backup power available and the utility is currently working to restore your power), receive comprehensive energy reports on consumption, production and system performance, as well as gain an aggregate view of multiple sites, essential for facility managers with several locations.
