Job Summary:

GridPoint is growing rapidly. Because our product is delivered as an equipment-enabled energy management subscription service, we rely on a delivery process that is seamless for our customers.  The Delivery Project Manager for Grid-Connected Programs is responsible for project/program management activities (defining scheduling, budget, risk, change, opportunity and resource management activities) for complex projects or programs surrounding the installation of our energy and grid-connected solutions.  With a focus on our grid-connected solutions like generators, demand response, and other programs with our Utility partners.  They guide the technical review of system design and documentation and develop continuous improvement plans. In addition, they may develop client relationships and sales opportunities.

This role requires a candidate to develop a deep understanding of how integrated demand-side management solutions and software-enabled grid services play a key role in providing customers energy savings and Utility solutions to meet the changing needs of the 21st century energy grid.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Acts as primary point of contact with customers.
  • Successfully develops strategy, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and leads project teams to execute project(s)
  • Responsible for schedule, cost and quality for single and multi-site projects.
  • Coordinates overall planning of the project and decides on allocation of resources.
  • Ensures projects and installations adhere to all relevant permitting and compliance requirements.
  • Monitors milestone and adherence to budgets, and initiates actions to minimize non-conformance cost.
  • Maintains constant communication to customers, outside contractors or other stakeholders.
  • Constant negotiations in a dynamic project environmental regarding scope and schedule, adheres to PM standards.
  • Manage project assignments to multiple subcontractors including pricing, scheduling, and out of scope approvals.
  • Maintain online CRM / project tracking tools continually to facilitate communication internally and with customers.
  • Assist subcontractors with review and understanding of scopes of work.
  • Create labor quotes using excel tools and general facility knowledge along with interaction with vendors.
  • Communicate with subcontractors regarding quality issues and corrective actions.
  • Review building drawings, schematics, and installation documentation to assist installers and internal teams alike in best installation solutions and troubleshooting site conditions.
  • Make constructive suggestions to the Department Manager on improving procedures, productivity & efficiency.
  • Keep the Department Manager informed of major developments on every project.
  • Communicate on-going program reporting and KPIs to GridPoint management and external partners.


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (electrical/mechanical) or equivalent.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a related position, e. g. project management in a solution or service environment.
  • Project Management certification
  • Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), Commercial generator installation management, renewable energy, and/or utility program management experience required.
  • Building automation, electrical and/or building operation experience preferred.
  • Proficient skills in schematic drawing software and Microsoft Office (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
  • Project management skills, including developing project plans, timelines / schedules, budgets, risk management, resource requirements, calculating ROI, etc.
  • Enthusiastic about change and change management. Able to effect change and drive results through leadership, collaboration, and influence.
  • The ability to demonstrate energy and determination to achieve results and improvement by overcoming obstacles, remaining effective despite setbacks and challenging current thinking.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to effectively manage time and resources.
  • Self-motivated with focus on results and sense of urgency.
  • Acting with urgency and bringing best practices in project management, project forecasting, and project reviews.
