Job Summary

An EMS Installation Auditor is very knowledgeable in commercial electrical and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.  This position is an expert in the NEC and how it applies to the installation of GridPoint equipment in commercial buildings.  Responsibilities include auditing GridPoint Energy Management System (EMS) installations to make sure they are in accordance with the current NEC guidelines as well as providing training assistance to GridPoint installation partners to maintain code compliance.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Physical and photo audits of GridPoint installations for NEC compliance and adherence to GridPoint standards and the installation scope of work
  • Identify potentially hazardous electrical situations and provide corrective actions for these situations
  • Remote support for subcontractors installing GridPoint equipment to ensure installation is code compliant
  • Researching and interpreting code
  • Work with Engineering to gain in-depth knowledge of new products and installation requirements as it pertains to the NEC
  • Work with Operations Engineering/Installation Support team to expand their NEC knowledge
  • Perform training for external installation partners and subcontractors on GridPoint standards and NEC compliance
  • 10% Travel Possible

  • One or more of the following is required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Associates degree in Electrical Construction Technology or similar
    • Journeyman or master electrician license
    • Certified Electrical Inspector
  • Commercial electrical installation experience, preferred. 
  • OSHA 10 / OSHA 30 – if not already received, then willing to take course within the first 6 months of hire
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
