GridPoint is seeking an Energy Data Analyst to join our Energy Advisory Services team. This position involves creating compelling reports, visualizations and driving action items through consultation with external clients This is a key role within the organization and is a growth area for the company. You will use your analytic skills and problem solving to identify data quality and facility asset control issues and help manage these issues to resolution.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Creating compelling reports, visualizations and driving action items for external clients
  • Consulting clients on the proper use of GridPoint tools and industry best practices for sustainability
  • Corporate level client engagement, presentations, analytics requests, and regularly scheduled meetings
  • Working independently and in conjunction with other analysts, internal and external teams
  • Customized data analysis (extraction, transformation, aggregation, modeling, and visualization)
  • Aiding in product development and industry trend analyses
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in close team environments


Required Qualifications

  • 5 – 7 + years overall experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, statistics, engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in working directly with clients in the energy, utilities, building controls, and/or facilities environments
  • Demonstrated use of Business Intelligence technology in performing analysis and the design and development of client facing dashboards, reports, and tools
  • Critical thinking– capable of generating consistently accurate, useful reports as well as an enthusiasm for translating data into actionable insight relevant to company objectives
  • Consulting experience and direct interaction with corporate level clients
  • Customized data analysis experience (extraction, transformation, aggregation, visualization)
  • Able to contribute to statistical innovation, process, and product improvement initiatives
  • Firm grasp of key statistical modeling methodologies and familiarity with complex analytics
  • Familiarity with common statistical packages
  • Proven ability to lead or mentor co-workers in a formal or informal capacity


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with some of the following:  R, MATLAB, etc
  • Experience with predictive modeling
  • Experience with report development and administration of MicroStrategy or similar BI tool (e.g., Tableau, IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects, Looker, etc)
  • Understanding building/facility technical functionality
  • Experience with Building/Energy Management technologies
