Job Summary:

GridPoint is expanding its Finance team by adding a take-charge, independent and pro-active Accountant with prior public accounting experience.  You will have an opportunity to work closely with finance leadership and partner with the Controller to help maintain, organize and improve the company’s fiscal records.   The Staff Accountant will perform a mix of day to day accounting operations, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, assist with the monthly financial statements as well as external financial reporting.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with the preparation of GAAP based financial reporting including related financial analysis, supporting schedules and accompanying reconciliations
  • Responsible for month and year-end close entries including payroll, expense accruals, allocations and prepaid expense amortization
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Preparation of monthly revenue and cost of sales amortization schedules, analysis and journal entries
  • Perform daily reconciliation of inventory transactions posted to the general ledger
  • Maintain customer payment schedules
  • Responsible for filing sales and use tax returns, property tax and business licenses
  • Assist with the preparation of income tax return schedules, 1099s, W-9s and other tax forms
  • Provide assistance with the quarterly and year-end external financial statement audit

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
  • Two years of prior public accounting experience is a plus
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Great Plains Dynamics accounting system is strongly desired
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle and maintain high levels of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability, especially while handling highly sensitive material and information.
