Prestigious global award recognizes GridPoint’s simplified carbon emission management for commercial businesses in partnership with TimberRock

, a leader in energy management and optimization technology that decarbonizes commercial buildings, today announced it has won a 2023 Edison Award in the sustainability category for its simplified carbon accounting integration in partnership with TimberRock, a software and energy solutions provider that helps organizations account for and reduce energy emissions.

“Sustainability is a high priority and major decision factor for many enterprises and having the ability to now adjust a building’s energy consumption based on carbon intensity is a powerful new tool,” said Mark Danzenbaker, CEO of GridPoint. “We’re honored to have our partnership with TimberRock recognized by the Edison Awards and look forward to our continuing efforts to expand the resources available to reach net zero.”

Beyond Accounting™, is the combination of data from GridPoint and TimberRock, one of GridPoint’s carbon accounting technology partners, that unlocks new pathways for CO2e reduction. Customers can automate and orchestrate energy-intensive equipment and distributed energy resources (DERs) within a building to reduce electricity demand at times when energy production is most carbon intensive. These CO2e mitigations are quantified via immutable record and ready for audit or third-party verification.

The GridPoint-TimberRock integration was selected from nearly 400 nominations as a leading innovation by business executives and industry experts from across the globe. Established in 1987, The Edison Awards is among the most prestigious accolades honoring excellence in new product and service development, marketing, design and innovation.
