GridPoint recognized as a leading provider of building energy management and optimization technology that decarbonizes commercial buildings and drives grid modernization

RESTON, Va. – November 29, 2022 – GridPoint, a leader in building energy management and optimization technology that decarbonizes commercial buildings and drives grid modernization, today announced it has been named to the 2022 NVTC Tech 100 list, a prestigious roster chosen by the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), the trade association representing the Northern Virginia technology community and one of the nation’s largest technology councils. The annual Tech 100 list highlights cutting-edge companies, executives, innovators, leaders and rising stars who are driving technological innovation, leading economic growth and making a positive impact in the National Capital region.

“We’re honored that our efforts toward a sustainable energy future in the Greater Washington community and nationally, earned GridPoint a spot on the prestigious NVTC Tech 100,” said Mark Danzenbaker, CEO of GridPoint. “We are committed to the decarbonization of commercial buildings and driving significant reductions in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.”

With the current built environment generating nearly 40% of global CO2 emissions, buildings represent the greatest, most cost-effective opportunity to reduce carbon and ensure a sustainable energy future. GridPoint is using this largely untapped market of commercial businesses as an advantage to make significant advances in efficiency and decarbonization by reducing energy consumption and peak demand. To date, GridPoint has saved its customers nearly $800M dollars in energy costs and reduced nearly 10.1B pounds of CO2e.

“2022 has been a year of tremendous growth for our region’s technology hub, thanks to the dynamic companies and individuals who are innovating and making a positive impact in the world. Their contributions are the reason our region is one of the nation’s most vibrant and collaborative technology communities,” said Jennifer Taylor, president and CEO of NVTC. “NVTC congratulates GridPoint for going above and beyond within their company and in their respective industries. Even in these unprecedented times of record levels of high-inflation and hybrid-work, the future of our tech community is brighter than ever, because of the momentous contributions of these leaders and companies.”

The 2022 program attracted hundreds of nominations across three award categories: Company, Executive, and NextGen Leader. A panel of independent judges reviewed each of the nominations. This year’s NVTC Tech 100 list comprises 71 tech companies, 23 executives, and 6 emerging leaders who consistently demonstrate dedication, vision, and innovation in our tech region.

Honorees will be recognized at the NVTC Tech 100 Celebration, “The Golden 20s,” on December 6, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. EST, at Capital One Hall in Tysons Corner. Learn more about the event and purchase tickets here.
